The Big Issue
To integrate age-in-place living as a node of a community rather than an isolated entity within it.

The elderly as thought of by our culture have changed. With the improvements in medicine and diet, people are now living healthier and more functionally for far longer. The model of an aged care facility is becoming outdated and for the cuture generation of ‘old’, a new model must be developed to cater for their needs.

Vision
That an existing community, as well as the new residents, can enjoy the wide range of facilities and enjoyable, lively qualities of an aged care facility. By giving the facilities an open and social atmosphere, it is proposed that the space will not be viewed as a specialised aged care facility, but rather discussed as community centre or activity node.
